Privacy Policy

We collect as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what happens when you browse CatCorners, use search, or send us a message.

Who we are

CatCorners (catcorners.site) is a cat care information website. In this policy, "we" means the CatCorners site owner. You can reach us through the contact page.

What information do we collect?

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider may automatically record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you request and the time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors.
  • Messages you send. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message.
  • Newsletter signups. If you subscribe, we receive your email address.
  • Search. Site search runs in your browser against a list of pages. Your search terms are not sent to us.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Cookies and tracking

CatCorners does not set its own cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking tools. If we add any, we will update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it.

Third parties that may receive your data

  • Font delivery. Fonts are loaded from the jsDelivr content delivery network, which can see your IP address and browser details when it serves them.
  • Form and email services. Messages and newsletter signups are handled by the form or email service we configure, which processes them for us.
  • Other websites. Links to retailers such as Amazon, to veterinary organizations or to social networks lead to sites with their own privacy policies. Amazon may set cookies on its own site when you visit it.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

How we use your information

To answer your messages, send emails you asked for, secure and improve the site, and meet legal obligations. Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interest in running the site and, for newsletters, your consent.

How long we keep it

Messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and for reasonable record keeping. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept by the host for a short period.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. California residents can also ask us not to sell their data, and we do not sell it. To use any of these rights, contact us.

Security

We use HTTPS and limit the data we collect, but no website can guarantee absolute security.
